Reflecting on Your Year-End Wellness Journey

As we approach the close of this transformative year, I wanted to share a personal moment from my own wellness journey. This morning, I found myself driving to the gym feeling tired, a bit flat, and low on energy. In these moments, it's easy for self-talk to take a negative turn. "Amber, how successful have you been this year? What have you actually accomplished?" My thoughts started spiraling down a path of self-criticism.

But then, I stopped myself. I hit the brakes on that negative spiral and asked, "What is really going on?" It was in that moment that I realized this year has been a messy, strange one for me, and I suspect for many of us. We emerged from the challenges of COVID with a newfound vigor, eager to make up for lost time and achieve great things. However, what unfolded was a tendency to overextend ourselves.

We dove into the year headfirst, but in the process, we may not have been the best at nurturing ourselves. The drive to accomplish, to prove ourselves, led to a pace that left little room for self-care. As I reflect on my own journey, I recognize that it's okay not to have it all figured out and to acknowledge the messy, imperfect nature of this year. So Grab a pen and paper and lets write….

Consider the lessons learned. In the messiness of this year, what insights have you gained? Sometimes, it's through challenges that we discover our true strengths and capabilities.

Gratitude and Positivity:

Express gratitude for the positives, even amidst the chaos. Gratitude has the power to shift our perspective and nurture a positive mindset.
